Consulting & Energy & Climate Protection

We have supported over 50 climate protection projects worldwide by registering with international and national authorities and verifying emission reductions.
We have many years of experience in design, implementation and training for measuring, reporting and verification (MRV) systems of greenhouse gases. Thus we have supported over 50 climate protection projects worldwide by registering with international and national authorities and verifying emission reductions. We have extensive experience with carbon footprints in the sectors aluminium, oil and gas, telecommunications and waste management.
At the moment, we are increasingly focusing on climate policy measures, climate change adaptation and resilience. In doing so, we have designed 15 NAMAs (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions) as part of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), as well as the matching financing instruments and MRVs.
Since 2015 Energy Changes is also working on the development of Upstream Emission Reduction (UER) projects, supporting our Clients in fulfilling their obligations under the European Fuel Quality Directive (FQD). So far we have developed 20 projects in 6 different host countries (project location) which were also successfully approved by the designated authorities of different EU memberstates. Energy Changes takes a lead role in the UER market, as the very first projects approved by Austria as well as by Germany were both developed by us.
In project development we applied the following standards:
CAR, CDM, GHG Protocol (Scope 1, 2, 3 and for Cities), Gold Standard, IPCC Rules for ISO 14040, 14044; ISO 14064 / 1-2, ISO 14067, JI, PAS 2050, PAS 2060, Plan Vivo, VCS. We have also developed 3 new methodologies (2 CDM, 1 VCS) for calculating and monitoring emission reductions.
