Lower EU thresholds from 1.1.2020

The European Commission has set new lower thresholds for 2020/2021.

The EU threshold values ​​are based on the threshold values ​​of the General Procurement Agreement (GPA), which are specified in so-called “special drawing rights”. This is an artificial currency unit created by the IMF.

Since their exchange rate against the euro is constantly changing, the EU threshold values ​​are adjusted to the special drawing rights every two years. Depending on the exchange rate changes against the euro, an adjustment is made either upwards (mostly) or downwards (less often the case).
