Successful application at NAMA Facility

The NAMA Facility has approved financial support for two solar PV projects in The Gambia. The facility committed € 11.7 million for the installation of 10.5 MW of solar capacity. The plants will be erected in Farafenni (6.0 MW) and Basse (4.5 MW) and will feed into regional electricity grids. The financing provided by the NAMA Facility will be used to provide a guarantee for the Power Purchase Agreement between the investor and the grid operator, the national electricity company NAWEC. In a first phase, 41 companies have expressed their interest in investing, shortlisted companies will be invited for proposals in the next phase.

Energy Changes led the development of the application documents for the submission to the NAMA Facility as well as the elaboration of the technical tender documents. Energy Changes will provide further technical expertise in the implementation phase.
